One story homes are more expensive than two story homes because of the cost of building materials. The cost of wood and concrete is higher for one story homes than for two story homes, so the materials that go into each home will be more expensive.
This also impacts the cost of labor because masons and carpenters charge more for their services per hour when working on a one story home than when working on a two story home.
