Buying a home is an exciting time in your life. But it's also a big expense. Before you get too far down the road, make sure you know what you're getting into. Here are some of the expenses first time home buyers need to be aware of:
Down Payment. You'll need to put down money on your home, and this will be one of the biggest expenses in your home buying journey. The amount of money you'll need depends on where you are in your career, what type of mortgage loan you get, and how much money you already have saved for the down payment.
Closing Costs. When purchasing a home, there are several costs associated with closing the deal. These can include title insurance, appraisal fees, origination fees (if applicable), legal fees (if applicable), document preparation fees (if applicable), notary fees and other miscellaneous charges that vary based on state law and lender requirements as well as purchase price and property type/location).
