It's the first step in the home-buying process, but what exactly does a pre-approval letter do?
If you're looking to buy a home, the first thing you should do is get a pre-approval letter. A pre-approval letter is an official document from a lender that says you will be able to get a loan for whatever amount of money you need to buy your dream home. It also includes information about how much money you'll be able to borrow and what interest rate you'll pay.
A pre-approval letter lets sellers know that you are serious about buying their property and gives them confidence that they won't be left waiting on hold while another buyer takes advantage of their situation. The seller may even decide to lower their asking price if they feel confident that they won't have any trouble selling it.
